Every team has sent a test email to a real customer from a staging copy. This module makes that impossible: the switch lives in the server's odoo.conf, so any database copied there is in staging mode automatically.
What it does
- Banner at the top of the back end and at the bottom of the website and login pages, with configurable text.
- No email leaves the server: Odoo's own do-not-send switch is turned on and queued mails are cancelled with a reason.
- Switched on per server by one line in odoo.conf; installed on production it does nothing.
How it is used
- Install on all servers.
- Add staging_mode = True to the staging server's odoo.conf and restart.
- Copy production databases to staging without a second thought.
